Last night, Simple Plan performed at yet another festival on their pre-album-release mini European tour – this time at the Open Air Gampel festival in Switzerland. Check out some awesome new pictures from this show in the gallery:

PHOTOS: Birthday celebrations at Gampel mountain

As it was not only Jeff’s birthday today, but also Chady’s (photo/videographer) and Steve’s (Stage truck driver) and the weather in Switzerland was wonderful, some of the boys from Simple Plan along with their crew decided to celebrate with a little hike the Gampel mountain near the Open Air Gampel festival, where SP will perform later tonight.

Check out some of the awesome pictures the guys took there together:

Simple Plan to perform at Open Air Gampel in Switzerland

After the first announced Simple Plan appearance in the summer at the Frequency Festival in Austria, it has just been announced by the organisers of the Open Air Gampel festival in Switzerland, that Simple Plan will be performing on the 30th anniversary of this festival alongside The Prodigy, Enter Shikari and many other artists (big thanks to Paula for heads-up!).

It is still unknown which day Simple Plan will perform but the festival takes place around the same time as Frequency in Austria – 20th to 23rd August.

Simple Plan in Switzerland and Groezrock festival in Belgium

After a week of touring France, this weekend, Simple Plan have returned to Switzerland, where they played in Zurich, and then on Sunday to Belgium, where they were one of the headlining acts at the Groezrock festival.

You can now check out some pictures of the band’s performance from this weekend in the gallery (I would like to thank Sandra for some of them):

As the Belgic Groezrock festival defines itself as a “punk-rock and hardcore” festival (just look at its line-up), Simple Plan were naturally a bit afraid to play some of their more “pop-ish” songs. That’s why (and also because they only had a 1 hour set), you can see many changes to their setlist – for example you won’t find the “party medley” on it, and neither the final Perfect.

Simple Plan’s setlist from the Groezrock festival in Belgium, from April 29th 2012

1. Shut Up
2. Can’t Keep My Hands Off You
3. Jump
4. When Im Gone
5. Thank You
6. Addicted
7. You Suck At Love
8. Your Love is A lie
9. Summer Paradise
10. Jet Lag
11. Loser Of The Year
12. No Pads medley
13. Welcome To My Life
14. I’d Do Anything

Despite all that though, Simple Plan’s show on this festival has been a huge success.

Also, there are a few more interesting pictures from Groezrock, that zou should check out. First, there is one from an interview with David and Jeff and then thanks to Jessica, there is also a couple of photos from Simple Plan’s signing session at Groezrock:

First francophone shows in Europe: Geneva and Paris

Simple Plan continue touring Europe and in the last few days stopped by two other European cities for some amazing shows. First, it was Geneva in Switzerland. This show surprised us with no professional pictures due to the fact that the area in between the stage and the barricade was nonexistant, so there were no photographers taking care of some viewing material for us. On the other hand it was very appealing for the fans, who could stand much closer to the band, with their arms leaning on the stage. It was the total opposite of what the fans in Barcelona had to endure (as you could see on our Facebook page), where the barricade was taller than them, making them feel like in a cage

After Switzerland, Simple Plan have appeared in France, where they played for a sold-out Zenith in Paris. The 6000 fans also greeted Marie-Mai as a surprise guest during the french version of Jet Lag.

You can already check out some photos from both concerts in the gallery (huge thanks for the ones from Geneva goes to Charlotte :))
