Report: Simple Plan live in Vienna, Austria

Simple Plan returned on stage with a bang and played a fantastic show in Vienna, Austria last night. Before the show started, the members of the SP Crew were treated with a soundcheck from which I bring you 4 videos of some very special songs. Firstly, the guys did a very interesting experiment and played something they called “Astro Lag”a song that features the lyrics from Jet Lag and the music from Astronaut. Check it out on the video below:

The guys also played two more songs that they rarely play live these days: Last One Standing and Save You. You can check them both out in the videos below:

Also, David switched his place with Chuck during Gone Too Soon at the soundcheck and you can see a part of this performance here:

And finally here’s one video from the show itself – from the first part of Simple Plan’s party medley – the cover of Moves Like Jagger:

And last but not the least, I’m sure you’ve been looking forward to some photo-update as well. So I present you my pictures from the show in Vienna and also enemy.at‘s pictures from their interview with Chuck and Seb + a backstage picture of all the boys:

A Friend In London to support Simple Plan in Vienna

In just a few months, Simple Plan will be returning to Europe for a short stay, mostly to a play at a couple of festivals and only two headlining shows – in Vienna and St Petersburg. And while it is still yet unclear who is going to be opening for Simple Plan at the show in St Petersburg, the supporting band for the concert in Vienna has already been confirmed!

The band that will support Simple Plan on their only show in central Europe this summer – in Vienna, Austria on June 7th – is called A Friend In London and the band confirmed it on their Facebook page (thanks Markéta for the info). A Friend In London is a Danish band that placed 5th in the 2011 edition of Eurovision Song Contest and recently also gained recognition by releasing a song featuring a collaboration with Carly Rae Jepsen.

If you’re going to the show, make sure to check them out before and perhaps even learn some of their lyrics to make your concert experience even better!

Show in Vienna, Austria re-confirmed for June!

For the people who were planning on attending the previously announced show in Vienna, Austria, the past few weeks have been pretty confusing. After the tickets have not gone on sale for a very suspiciously long time, a Czech promoter has revealed that the show is actually most probably not happenning. And to add to that, in the past week, the show apparently kept disappearing and re-appearing on the official Simple Plan tourdates list. The reason was that the management is still deciding on what the final schedule for Simple Plan’s tour in Europe this June is going to look like.

Good news came in yesterday when the Vienna date appeared on the Simple Plan tourlist again (this time, along with a tweet from the official Simple Plan Twitter page) and it seems like after this morning, when the tickets finally went on sale, everything seems to be all okay again. The Simple Plan show is also finally under the MusicTicket.at upcoming events list. So if you were planning on going to this show, make sure to check out the details of the show below to see where you can get the tickets:

Special SimplePlan.cz feature: Fans’ reactions to soundcheck party in Vienna

It’s been a little more than a month already, but I still have something special in store for you from the show in Vienna, Austria. Right before the concert, during the late afternoon, a couple of fans, who are a part of the official fanclub SP Crew, had the opportunity to attend the band’s soundcheck and later meet the members of Simple Plan in person.

Right after the souncheck party ended, I captured the reactions of a few fans from the Czech and Slovak Republic, who attended it. So if you’ve never met SPm before, this video might give you at least a little cue on what sorts of feelings can meeting the band induce.

Make sure to enable the English subtitles that I created for the video, by clicking on the red CC sign in the control panel of the video.

A huge thanks goes to all the fans, who were willing to comment on the soundcheck party – namely Michaela, Sandra, Andrea and Lucie, and also Viola for the clips from the Simple Plan show itself.
