Simple Plan forced to postpone Houston & Austin shows due to hurricane Harvey

Earlier today we reported that at the time, the band had still hoped that things would turn out in their favor and even despite the hurricane warnings in Texas, tonight’s Houston show would go as planned. However after careful consideration, due to hurricane Harvey being classified as category 3 hurricane now (could cause structural damage to buildings) and with everyone’s safety in mind, it has been decided that the Simple Plan show in Houston, TX would not be happening today and later updated that the show in Austin would also not be happening.

The band released a statement regarding the cancelation of the show – however, Simple Plan are already working on rescheduled shows for Houston and Austin and therefore purchased tickets remain valid for the next show. Read the statement below:

“Due to Hurricane Harvey, our shows in Houston and Austin are now officially postponed. Fans’ safety is our number one priority and after careful consideration, it was decided that this was the right thing to do for everyone involved. We are extremely sorry for this unfortunate turn of events and for any inconvenience this may cause. We are already working on finding a replacement date for the show and will announce the details as soon as possible. All tickets will be honored for the new dates. Thanks for your understanding and we look forward to playing for you.

Please be careful and stay safe.
