PHOTOS: Seb and Pat return with season 22 of Man Of The Hour

Sebastien has recently returned from his well-deserved vacation and once he was back in town, it was time to hit up his old friend Patrick Langlois and record a new episode of their radio show Man Of The Hour show! The guys pre-taped a few days ago but finally aired last night on Idobi radio as the first episode of season 22.

But if you missed the show last night, don’t worry! You catch catch up on the rerun on Sunday at 3pm EST or download the podcast on iTunes later on.

Check out some of the pictures from the recording of the episode, taken in Seb’s home studio:

Man Of The Hour celebrates 10 years on air!

Exactly 10 years ago on this day, on August 5th 2006, the first ever episode of the Man Of The Hour radio show aired on Idobi radio. Hosted by Patrick Langlois (TV host, former SP merchguy/video/photographer) and Sebastien Lefebvre (Simple Plan), the show aired over 190 episodes of the podcast, which is available on iTunes and on ManOfTheHour.ca, and over the 10 years has managed to create a worldwide audience of over 125 000 people.

Each episode consists of blocks of music in the alternative/rock genre (but there are always exceptions), which are interspersed with funny anecdotes from the two hosts and various segments, such as ‚As Seen On The Internet‘. Long-time listeners may also remember special MOTH episodes, such Christmas specials, episodes with special guests (e.g. Chuck Comeau, Fred „The Cheese Guy“ Jerome or more recently Chady Awad) or that one time Pat and Seb decided to film the radio show on camera and provide their fans with a video-podcast [see the recap of all the episodes of seasons 1-10 here – I promise I will work on the rest soon]. Every season has also been known for its specific jingle, courtesy of Sebastien’s computer/music skills.

The connection between Sebastien, Patrick and Man of The Hour can be dated all the way back to 2002 [if you look carefully, you can spot Sebastien wearing Man Of The Hour t-shirts in Simple Plan’s first DVD – ‚A Big Package For You‘], however according to a recent interview with Patrick, the name for the show was inspired by the on-going-joke of the 2005 tour with Bowling For Soup, where Patrick would say to anyone who would walk in the room: „There he is, man of the hour!“.

As of right now, Man Of The Hour is in the midst of their 20th season and still going strong, producing a new episode every Wednesday evening at 8pm EST [with a re-run every Sunday at 3pm EST] on Idobi radio.

Let’s wish Man Of The Hour many more decades to go! Thanks for all the jokes and good music, Seb & Pat!

So get ready for your weekly dose of funny rants, cool stories and awesome music, accompanied by Pat and Seb on Idobi radio every Wednesday at 8pm ESTstarting today! Patrick explains Man Of The Hour’s title in new interview for the 1st time

This August, Patrick’s and Sebastien’s radio show Man Of The Hour (that you can listen to on Idobi radio every Wednesday with a re-run on Sunday and subsequently on podcasts on iTunes) will be celebating incredible 10 years on air. During these 10 years, the two friends, out of which one is a guitar player for Simple Plan and the other a TV show host in Montreal, managed to bring us 19 seasons (10 episodes in each) of music, rants and interviews.

Manifesto Of Sound recently interviewed Patrick and Sebastien about their popular radio show and in this very good interview (which you can read here), Patrick for the first time explained, where exactly the name ‘Man Of The Hour’ came from. Uptil now, we only knew that before the radio show, Patrick, Seb and Jaret Reddick from Bowling For Soup started MOTH as a side project/band, which never made any music, however various merchandise has been produced.

Check out the quote from Pat explaining the meaning behind the title:

What made you decide to call the podcast “Man of the Hour”?

Patrick: “We were on tour with Bowling for Soup in Europe and for some unexplainable reason, I started using the line “there he is, man of the hour” as soon as anyone would walk in the room. It was funny, cause it started to pick up and everyone would say it when someone would walk in the room. This was just about the time that we ended up starting this radio show so it seemed like the perfect name for the show!”

New Simple Plan song to premiere next week on Man Of The Hour!

You all waited for so long (and honestly, you all deserve a big cake for that) but it was worth it: big things are finally happening!

In last night’s Man Of The Hour show on Idobi radio, which is run by Sebastien Lefebvre from Simple Plan and his friend Patrick Langlois, the hosting duo announced that Simple Plan will be premiering a brand new song from their upcoming album right on Man Of The Hour next week!!! It is currently unknown whether this song will be the first single, but it sure will be worth checking out.

So make sure to listen to Man Of The Hour on Idobi next Wednesday, June 24th, at 8pm EST (for Europeans, that’s 2am on Thursday).
