Simple Plan’s ‘Astronaut’ among AP’s ’10 essential songs about space’

The latest issue of the Alternative Press magazine features a page dedicated to the ‘TOP 10 essential songs about space’ and with that theme in mind, it would be a shame not to include Simple Plan’s second single from Get Your Heart On! – “Astronaut”.

Besides Simple Plan, the article also included other space-themed songs by bands such as Blink-182 (‘Aliens Exist’), 5 Seconds Of Summer (‘Outer Space / Carry On’) or Misfits (‘Mars Attacks’).

Check out what AP wrote about SP’s song below and have a look at the full page from AP in the gallery (thanks Theresa for the picture)

10 ESSENTIAL SONGS ABOUT SPACE

Simple Plan – “Astronaut”
The single off Simple Plan’s fourth album is astronaut-approved. Apparently Canadian spaceman (and musician) Chris Hadfield played the song while in orbit. The emotional track is filled with space imagery and related to the loneliness astronauts must feel when they are out here in the great unknown.

Interview with Chuck and Seb a part of Óčko TV’s ‘interviews of the year’

In a new video segment recently published on the YouTube channel of TV Óčko, the popular Czech music TV channel included pieces of their best interviews of 2016 – with artists that visited the Czech Republic over the course of the year – including those with Twenty One Pilots, Bastille and of course Simple Plan (and others).

Check out the recap video below, which features a short shout-out to TV Óčko from Chuck and Sebastien (the full interview by TV Óčko, taken before the Simple Plan show in Prague on March 3rd 2016 can be watched here):

New year’s wishes from the members of Simple Plan

With the celebrations of the end of 2016 behind us and all of 2017 in front of us, it was the perfect time for the guys from Simple Plan to look back at the past year, which was definitely a big milestone in their career, and also look into the future and what it may bring us.

Some of the members of Simple Plan took to their social media profiles to reminisce about the old year and of course wish their fans a happy new year. Let’s have a look what they had to say:

“2016 was an amazing year for me in so many ways, but it was also one of the hardest. I’m grateful for all the beautiful moments and all the joy it brought me, but also for the challenges and failures I’ve experienced. All these obstacles taught me to be stronger and more resilient and made me better and wiser. I’m excited about all the possibilities 2017 brings. The future is bright; I can’t wait to see what comes next. Happy New Year!” – Chuck Comeau

“2016 was rad, fun, happy, busy, confusing, stressful, weird and heartbreakingly sad all at the same time. It was an emotional roller coaster ride and I think we’re all ready to move on to 2017! Can’t wait to see what’s gonna happen. Thanks to all of you for following me and supporting SP. I wish you the absolute best for the New Year!” – Chuck Comeau

“I’m looking forward to many things coming in 2017: a bit of time off for myself, time with my little ones, lots of skying, more tours for Simple Plan, lots of musical projects. Last year started off on the wrong foot for me, on a personal level: I’m leaving all of it behind. I feel less stressed about 2017, I am confident that it will be a good one. I can visualize a bunch of wonderful things coming.” – Jeff Stinco

Great way to end 2016. Looking forward to a crazy 2017. Love and happiness to all of you out there. Xoxo.” – Pierre Bouvier

“Happy New Year! We wish you all the very best for 2017! Thanks for making 2016 amazing for us. Looking forward to seeing all of you on tour next year!” – Pierre, Chuck, Sebastien, Jeff and David
