Reset to reunite with its original members this year!

If you’re a fan of Simple Plan, surely you’re heard of the band Reset before. Reset was founded in 1993 and at some point in time three members of Simple Plan made some of their first music-related memories in this band. Pierre and Chuck were the founding members of Reset and David later replaced Pierre after his departure from the band – not for long, though, just a few months later he left the band also to join the Reset-renegades in the newly started band Simple Plan. After all these years, Reset’s fanbase is still going pretty strong and it is them who can start getting very excited about this year!

Philippe Jolicoeur, Reset’s lead singer, guitarist and only remaining founding member, announced yesterday that there is some very good news coming up for Reset in 2018, while also posting the reunion picture from Amnesia Rockfest 2014 featuring himself, Pierre, David and Chuck. Philippe also confirmed that a reunion with the original members of Reset is tied to this good news.

Many fans are speculating that the original members could repeat their last reunion, which took place in 2014 at the Amnesia Rockfest festival in Quebec. The festival has since renamed Montobello Rockfest and will be taking place from June 14th to June 16th 2018 in Montobello, QC.

Whether the band will perform at Montobello Rockfest and whether David, who’s been absent from Simple Plan’s tours for almost a year now, will be a part of this reunion, is currently unknown. Keep checking back for more info!

Remind yourselves of the music video for Reset’s song ‘My Dream And I’, which is very specific for its use of Pierre Bouvier’s vocals in its recording, but with David Desrosiers playing the role of the waiter in the video. The two have however never been in Reset together at the same time:

Props from the filming of Singing In The Rain video up for auction on Ebay

Our colleagues over at SPB made a curious discovery: a very interesting bunch of objects recently appeared on Ebay, which may be a great addition to any Simple Plan collection – that is, if you’re willing to pay for it!

An unknown member of the crew involved in the making of the music video for ‘Singing In The Rain’ (filmed in April 2016) got ahold of two pieces of props from the filming: two pieces of fake vinyl records for ‘Singing In The Rain’ made exclusively for the purposes of this video, which have also been used multiple times in the actual music video [e.g. check out mark 1:46 in the music video], as is now offering them in an auction on Ebay.

The bidding for the records started at $100 and as of writing this article, there have not been any bids made to purchase these two items. If you’re interested in purchasing this piece of Simple Plan memorabilia, check out the auction site here.

Exclusive look at the limited edition Warped Rewind At Sea vinyl feat. SP

Christmas light display on a house in Idaho features Simple Plan’s latest Christmas song!

Decorating houses for Christmas not only on the inside but also on the outside has been a popular winter tradition in many countries all over the world – especially in the United States. Many families use sometimes even thousands of different lightbulbs to lighten up their home, to make it stand out and of course to bring a bit of holiday cheer to their street.

And one such house, based in Boise, Idaho, has gone even further – it not only lights up every evening, but starting this Sunday, it will be presenting a special light show every evening accompanied by animations to over a dozen Christmas-related songs!

A video of one of the light displays, which features Simple Plan’s latest Christmas song, release right before last year’s Christmas holidays – ‘Christmas Every Day’, was now published on YouTube and you can enjoy it all – including the animations below:

Simple Plan to host a bellyflop competition on board of Warped Rewind At Sea

At this moment, the members of Simple Plan are already on their way to New Orleans, where they are expected to board the Warped Rewind At Sea cruise ship, which will take them all the way to Cozumel, Mexico in the course of the next 4 days. During that time, Simple Plan will perform on the boat alongside many other Warped acts, such as Good Charlotte, Reel Big Fish, Bowling For Soup, 3OH!3 and many more.

And while we already gave you the first look at the program of this cruise a little while ago [which let us know when exactly Simple Plan would perform], it has now been updated with a bunch of new activities which will be taking place on board of the ship.

Acording to the schedule, on Sunday, October 29th, Simple Plan will be the ones to host the “Unleash the splash” bellyflop competition. Check out below what the description of the contest says about this fun activity that the SP members will be judging:

“This is the chance to show off your biggest and best flops for Simple Plan and your Warped family! Flair and style points count too. Just show up at the scheduled time on board to grab one of the highly coveted spots. Spectators are guaranteed shock, awe, and laughs during this cruise favorite.”
