Simple Plan will be playing the first show of 2015 tonight in Moncton, Canada and just a couple minutes ago the boys finished the soundcheck in the slightly chilly weather there.
Check out the first pictures from the soundcheck in the gallery:

While David, Sebastien and Jeff are back home in Canada for a while, Pierre and Chuck stayed behind in LA and keep on working on the band’s new album. Because their fellow bandmates are not on hand, it was a great opportunity for Pierre and Chuck to take care of the recording parts that don’t necessarily involve Jeff, David and Seb, which is why they invited three talented musicians to lay some brass (such as the trumpet, the baritone sax or the tenor sax) on the new album: Miguel Gandelman, Mike Eyia and Ludo Louis.
Miguel Gandelman is a saxophone player, who often appeared in The Tonight Show Band, and also had his sax input on some of the albums and tours by The Black Eyed Peas, Justin Timblerlake, Stevie Wonder, Christina Aguilera or Mariah Carey. Mike Eyia also rocks the saxophone, but also masters other instruments, such as the flute, clarinet, piano or percussions. He recently performed alongside singer/actress Rumer Willis in Hollywood. And finally, Ludo Louis plays the trumpet, most notoriously for Lenny Kravitz.
Are you excited to hear some new sounds on the new Simple Plan record?

David continues being the band’s chameleon and yesterday he showed his fans that he got himself a brand new haircut: a quiff! According to David’s post on Instagram, he visited the Silver Lake Studio hair salon in LA for his newest look.
Ever wondered what the Simple Plan guys are up to during the weekends when they’re not in the studio? Well, I’m not sure about other weekend, but yesterday some of the SP guys got together and Jeff documented a very interesting ping-pong game between Chuck and David, which had some pretty interesting stakes: Chuck betted his house and David his motorbike collection.
Eventually, it was Chuck who won the game, which Jeff commented with a note: “Now he needs to learn how to drive a bike.” Regarding how serious this game actually was, you’ll need to ask the guys, but before you do that, make sure to check out the pictures from this awesome bet:

It’s true that we haven’t had much new info from SP’s time in the studio lately, but at least the guys keep updating their Instagrams with new pictures, and from the latest Pierre’s one we know that he can “see the light at the end of the tunnel” now, which tells us that the works on the new album might be heading towards the finish line!
