CONFIRMED: Simple Plan writing songs with 5 Seconds Of Summer!

We first heard about a possible upcoming collaboration between Simple Plan and the Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer in August 2014 shortly after 5 Seconds of Summer revealed they listen to Simple Plan during pre-show rituals. Since then the members of both bands got in touch and have already met several times and Simple Plan have been toying with the idea of a possible collaboration between them.

However only yesterday’s events made it clear that there is definitely something in works. Michael Clifford (guitar and back vocals for 5SOS) and Calum Hood (bass guitar and back vocals for 5SOS) officially visited Pierre and Chuck in Chuck’s home studio where they were co-writing some songs for 2 days. Whether the guys were only song-writing together or if we can expect some 5SOS vocal parts on some upcoming songs is yet unclear.

And to top it off, Michael also posted two videos of the guys of 5SOS and SP singing Simple Plan’s “Perfect” together. Check them out here and here.

Simple Plan will be entering the studio in less than 2 weeks, on March 1st 2015.

PHOTOS: Chuck’s hikes on Runyon Canyon with Accès Illimité

Yesterday we found out that an interview with Pierre and Chuck from Simple Plan will be shown on the Canadian program Accès Illimité on TVA. And while the parts with Pierre were done during his surfing session on Thursday, the host of the show, Anouk Meunier, interviewed Chuck during a hike on Runyon Canyon in LA.

Although we will probably have to wait a few weeks till the interview airs, you can now at least enjoy some pictures from Chuck’s and Anouk’s hike:

Simple Plan are writing songs with Ryan Stewart

The official Simple Plan Instagram profile just revealed that Pierre and Chuck have recently been song-writing with Ryan Stewart, Canadian JUNO-award winning song-writer and producer. Ryan has previously co-written and produced with Carly Rae Jepsen (for example her vocal parts in “Good Time” with Owl City), Matt Webb of Marianas Trench or Laurell.

Simple Plan to be featured on Accès Illimité

Accès Illimité, a TVA produced Canadian cultural program hosted by Anouk Meunier and Jean-Philippe Dion, is coming back for its fourth season this Sunday, February 8th, and will be bringing along lots of interviews from all over the world.

The hosts have traveled to the United States, Italy, France and England and managed to speak to such personalities as David Guetta, Jose Theodore, Mika and also Simple Plan.

It is still unknown whether the interview with Simple Plan with be a part of the first episode of the program this Sunday or later on but we definitely have something to look forward to. Anouk Meunier, one of the hosts of the show, has recently published a picture on her Twitter profile which features her along with Pierre Bouvier, probably taken very recently, so if parts of the interview were taken in California, we may hopefully learn the latest about the new album.
