Jeff discusses upcoming documentary “The Event” on Radio Canada

Yesterday, Jeff Stinco paid a visit to the ICI Radio Canada radio station, where he was invited to talk about the upcoming documentary “The Event”, that he is producing and that will be coming out tomorrow, July 2nd.

The program will be documenting the behind the scenes of big summer musical events that featured performances of artists such as Louis-Jean Cormier, Woodkid, Éric Lapointe, Marie-Mai and Diana Krall.

Below you can check out some of the quotes from Jeff from this interview, regarding his upcoming documentary series, which were featured in the accompanying article on the Radio Canada website:

“We often see people backstage, moving boxes… We do not really know what they are doing. But in this program, we are interested in the human side, that these people live. Often, they are separated from their families for an entire festival.”

“I am less interested in the dramatic side of the show. I see something else. I see people who are experiencing challenges.”

You can listen to the full version of this (French) interview with Jeff from Radio Canada here and below you can have a look at a picture of Jeff taken during the interview:

Simple Plan teams up with Kiehl’s for a new charitable facial cream product

The American cosmetics brand retailer Kiehl’s recently teamed up with Simple Plan and together they developed a limited-edition of an “Ultra Facial Cream” – which is going to be on the market only in September – (thx CSP for the info). According to INSERT magazine, 100% of the internet profits from the sale of this product will be going to the Simple Plan Foundation. In addition to that, Kiehl’s will also donate $1 for every sold “Ultra Facial Cream” product to children in need.

According to Marketing mag, the partnership between Simple Plan and Kiehl’s won’t stop there: together they will also be hosting a charitable concert in Toronto, Canada in September, which is yet to be announced. It is possible that this concert might be connected to the annual Simple Plan Foundation benefit event – however that is just a speculation for now.

Omnium Gervais-Talbot event donates $50 000 to the Simple Plan Foundation

Just like every year, the charitable organization Omnium Gervais-Talbot, founded by two Canadian hockey players – Max Talbot (Colorado Avalanche) and Bruno Gervais (Adirondack Phantoms), held a charitable golf tournament at the Gold St-Hyacinthe golf club in St-Hyacinthe, Quebec. And just like last year, all the profits from the event will be going to the Simple Plan Foundation, which meant that of course the members of the band were also present at the event.

The day started with a golf tournament that Chuck Comeau from Simple Plan took part in, because being a drummer didn’t allow him to be a part of the acoustic performance of his band, so he wanted to be involved in a different way. The rest of the band joined him during the evening and all of them were (just like last year) handed a cheque for $50 000 for their Foundation on behalf of Omnium Gervais-Talbot.

Pictures from yesterday’s event ca alreay be found in the gallery. You’ll notice that David seems to be wearing an orthotics on his right arm; however that didn’t seem to be in way of him performing that evening with the band, so fans who’ll be attending the upcoming concerts of Simple Plan don’t need to fret.
