Simple Plan to perform at Sound Of Music festival’s Kick Off event in Canada!

The first of the two promised announcements is here! In has been announced today that on June 9th, Simple Plan will be taking part in the Sound Of Music Kick Off event in Burlington, ON in Canada. This event serves as the kick off party to the popular Sound Of Music festival in Burlington.

Unfortunately while the festival itself is free, the kick off show – mostly due to the stellar line-up – is not. But not to worry – it’s all worth the performing acts! Besides Simple Plan, the attendees of the Kick Off event will be able to also see Sublime With Rome, The All-American Rejects, Everclear and Eve 6.

The festival also revealed a new picture of the whole band, which is now featured on their website. The image was taken last year. See it in full size in our gallery.

And what exactly can we expect those dates to be? We already know that Simple Plan will be heading to Brazil this coming May – but the exact tourdates have not been confirmed yet. Therefore chances are Brazil will be amongst the two upcoming announcements. The band has also previously mentioned that the touring plans in 2018 should not only include Brazil but South America in general – that’s why we’re also expecting other countries to be on the list of announced tourdates – either later today or on Monday.

Interestingly enough, Vivo Ex El Rock, the Peruvian festival that has for the longest time been rumored as one of Simple Plan’s stops in South America, will be making its lineup announcement this Sunday, March 25th. Could that all be tied up to Simple Plan’s two tour announcements in the upcoming days? We shall see!

Keep checking back on SimplePlan.cz for both announcements.

Real Friends cancel their appearance as an opening act on Simple Plan’s Australian tour

Earlier this morning, Real Friends’ lead singer Dan Lambton announced on Facebook that due to his band’s and psychiatrist’s recommendation, Real Friends will be cancelling their upcoming tour in Australia and Europe, while Dan takes the time off to deal with his recent diagnosis of bipolar disorder. In Australia, Real Friends were supposed to join Simple Plan in April as their opening act on their tour alongside the band Eat Your Heart Out.

In response to these news, Simple Plan made a statement wishing Dan all the best when dealing with his mental health issues while announcing that instead of Real Friends, Stateside will be joining them on the Australian tour. Read their full statement below:

“We are very saddened to hear that Dan, the lead singer from Real Friends, is struggling with mental health issues and that him and the band won’t be able to perform with us on our upcoming Australian #NPNHJBtour. We wish him and his band mates all the best and hope they will overcome this challenge and be back on stage performing soon.

We are thrilled to announce that Stateside has agreed to join the tour and will be playing with us and Eat Your Heart Out on all our upcoming Australian dates.

We can’t wait for these shows and hope to see all our Australian fans at the shows!”

Simple Plan back on stage: first two days performing at Walt Disney World in Florida

For the first time this year and after months of relaxing and vacationing, Simple Plan got together again this week in Florida, where just like last year they once again took part in the Garden Rocks festival series at the Walt Disney World resort. Simple Plan will be playing for four days straight – three 30-minute sets per day.

The first two days of performances took place this Friday and Saturday, where the four members of Simple Plan (with David still being absent) performed for a full auditorium each of the 6 times. It appears that the band decided to mix it up a little bit and offer a different setlist at each of the many performances in order for fans to experience more songs during the three performances every day. You can see a setlist from one of the sets on the image on the left.

Now, come check out some of the glamorous pictures from the first two days of Simple Plan at the Walt Disney World in our gallery – Day 1 can be found under the first thumbnail, Day 2 under the second one:

CONFIRMED: Original members of Reset to reunite at Montebello Rockfest!

Earlier this year SimplePlan.cz first brought you the initial information that Reset, the band that many members of Simple Plan previously played in, would be reuniting at this year’s Montebello Rockfest in Canada. However back then this information was only based on Phil Joliceour’s announcement that fans may look forward to yet another Reset reunion soon.

Today however, Montebello Rockfest has announced all the acts that will be taking part in its 13th edition this year – in Montebello, QC from June 14th to 16th and the Reset reunion has now been officially confirmed.

According to the information provided by the festival, Reset will be appearing with its original members – including the members of Simple Plan. Last time Reset reunited at the Rockfest back in 2014, all three former Reset members that are now in Simple Plan – Pierre, Chuck and David – appeared on stage together alongside their former Reset bandmates. We can almost guarantee that Chuck and Pierre will be there for this 90s throwback, but given the unknown status of David’s recovery, it is unclear right now whether he will be appearing as well or not.

Besides Reset, Montebello Rockfest will be offering many other stellar acts on their lineup including Weezer, All Time Low, Rage Against The Machine, Sum 41, Jimmy Eat World, Rancid, The Used and many more!
