Sebastien Lefebvre posted a special new video on his official Facebook page, in which he urges people to sign the Je Signe Pour L’Enfance pledge to help starving children in Canada. You can watch the video by clicking on the thumbnail below and read the English translation of the message right here:

“Hello everyone! This is Sebastien Lefebvre from the band Simple Plan. And I invite you to go sign the pledge on the site: jesignepourlenfance.org. Because the Breakfast Club is a very good cause that’s going to truly make a difference for children. And because to build a better world, no child should be left behind. So it’s super important that everyone signs right now. Now. Sign right now!”

Sebastien supports the Je Signe Pour L’Enfance campaign

Earlier today, Sebastien Lefebvre from Simple Plan attended the press conference for the Je Signe Pour L’Enfance (I Sign For The Children] campaign. By organising this campaign, the organisation Breakfast Club, is trying to help starving children in Canada and also focus on empowering, inspiring and involving today’s youth.

The goal of the campaign is to get up to 100 000 signatures of a pledge for children. For each signature, the sponsors of this campaign will donate $1. If you’d like to know more about this campaign or even help and sign the pledge, make sure to visit JeSignePourLEnfance.org

Sebastien has been involved with this campaign for a while now and even did a little photoshoot to support this campaign a while back. Check out some of the pictures of Sebastien from this shoot and from the press conference in the gallery:

Simple Plan to hit studio in January!

On November 4th, Jeff Stinco gave an interview to Brendan Kelly from Montreal Gazette, in which the Simple Plan guitarist discussed his side projects and also the next Simple Plan album. The most interesting part of the interview was the reveal that the band plans on finally moving from the song-writing phase after this year and hit the recording studio in January!

Read a couple of quotes from this interview:

(On his bandmates attending the opening party of his new establishment Laurea earlier this year and even flying down to Montreal from the US because of that) “I was proud of that. I guess that’s some kind of an endorsement on their part.”

(On what his bandmates think of his side business) “They think I’m kind of crazy. They don’t understand why I would work during downtime.”

(On his reasoning behind his side projects) “I felt it was the right time to try different things. It’s about following my passions, doing things that I really wanted to do for a long time. The know-how I bring from the music industry is from when we started out. Doing flyers on our own. Just making sure the accounting was done properly and on time. It’s all about putting your heart into it and believing in a concept. And there’s a bit of showmanship, too. When you open a restaurant, you want to make sure people have a great time. That’s a parallel (you can make) with the music industry. People don’t come to your shows to have five guys seated on chairs and not do or say anything.”

(On why it takes so long to release a new album) “We’re slow writers. A lot of people in the music industry have a crew of writers writing when they’re on the road so when they get back home, they record an album and get back on the road. We have to stop because we’re not really good at focusing at two things at the same time.”

As a part of this interview, Jeff Stinco was also photographed (see top image) and you can check out two pictures from that photoshoot in the gallery. A small portion of the interview is also available on video:

Chuck confirms 50 songs written for album no.5 so far

Mitch Lafon from the One On One podcast has recently interviewed Chuck Comeau from Simple Plan. In this very interesting interview the two discussed the upcoming Simple Plan Foundation benefit event, that’s taking place on November 23rd in Montreal and also the new Simple Plan album.

Chuck talked about the importance of music in people’s lives, about how hard it is to write songs under the pressure when their fans expect their songs to be very meaningful, while not trying to write them just for that purpose. He also mentioned how the band’s work with the producer of their second album – Bob Rock – came about and expressed his desire to work with him again in the future. Regarding the next album, Chuck mentioned him and Pierre have about 50 songs written so far and plan on writing about 60 songs and then bring them down to 11. The release of the album is still planned for some time around spring or summer of 2015.

You can listen to the whole interview with Chuck as audio below (move to mark 5:07 for the start of the interview). I definitely recommend you to listen to the whole thing:
