ArtisanNewsService recently posted a brand new interview with Chuck Comeau that was taken during his appearance at the red carpet on the Alternative Press Music Awards two weeks ago. In this interview Chuck discussed how the band got back to their “fun” roots with their last album and also mentioned that Simple Plan are currently working on album number five. After the end of the interview with him, the voice-over in the video mentioned that the 5th album “should be out in the second half of 2015”.

Now – firstly, there’s no need to panic. The guys have no idea about the exact release date of the new record (and won’t know for a couple more months), since they haven’t even started recording yet. So despite the fact that this is the first time we’re hearing the album should come out in the “second half” of 2015 (while “first half of 2015” has been the goal uptil now), let’s be aware of the fact that these weren’t the words of any of the members in particular and it was just a background information in this video. As Jeff mentioned in the Breakfast Television interview yesterday: the recording process is very fluid and the guys can’t predict right now when exactly it’s going to come out.
