Sebastien on stage with Wilfred Lebouthillier at the launch of his new album

After months of hard work along with his brother Jay and Canadian singer/songwriter Wilfred Lebouthillier, Sebastien is now a proud producer of Wilfred’s new album “Je poursuis ma route” that came out yesterday. To celebrate the release date, Wilfred held a concert/launch party at Le National in Montreal, Canada, where he played the songs from his brand new album. Among the guests who showed up at this event was for example Marie-Mai, who you may remember from the French version of Jet Lag and who also competed against Wilfred Lebouthillier in the 2003 edition of Star Académie, where she ended up on 3rd place, while Wilfred won the competition. The event would also not be complete without the Lefebvre brothers, who (as a suprise) accompanied Wilfred during the last song of the set – Ce que tu veux – on stage – with Sebastien playing the guitar and Jay playing the piano.

PREVIEW: Seb tracking guitars for new Simple Plan EP

Simple Plan started recording their upcoming EP a couple days ago and after we’ve learned that Chuck already started tracking his drums, it was now Sebastien’s turn to record his guitar parts in the comfort of his own Man Of The Hour studio in Montreal. Seb didn’t forget to capture this moment on a short video that he posted on Instagram and thanks to which we now have a mini-preview of one of the songs that should be featured on the new Simple Plan EP:

VIDEO: Jeff at the GRIS Montreal conference

As you’ve been informed yesterday, Jeff attended the GRIS Montreal conference as a representative of the Simple Plan Foundation to support the organisation’s goals of fighting homophobia at schools. Webpresse.ca published a video from this conference and thanks to Sab here’s an English translation of what Jeff says in this video:

“When GRIS came to us to work with them we thought it would be interesting to promote dialogue in schools and together we created an award – the “Prix GRIS-Fondation Simple Plan» which rewards a school that has the best education project. This year it was a school in Laval – the school created 16 groups to talk about cyber-bullying, coming out, how to set a dialogue in a teaching background about homophobia, against violence, cyber-bullying and bullying at school.” – Jeff Stinco

Chuck Comeau a part of La Presse+ app campaign

Chuck Comeau from Simple Plan recently got involved with the new campaign by the Canadian press medium La Presse – in particular with their brand new app La Presse+. Chuck’s words “I admit that it was my father who made me discover it.” are used on the promo pictures for this campaign that also includes personalities like host Penelope McQuade, journalists Nathalie Petrowski and Patrick Lagacé and also singer Pierre Lapointe.

The campaign also includes short videos filmed with the involved personalities. Chuck’s video can be found here:

Bowling For Soup reference Simple Plan in a new song

Bowling For Soup, an American band that has been linked to Simple Plan many times in the past (opening for them on the StarJam tour in 2005 and 2006 in the US, Jaret Reddick’s connection to Man Of The Hour etc.), is releasing a new album on September 30th called Lunch. Drunk. Love. which is a follow-up to their last studio record from 2011 (Fishin’ for Woos).

This band is mostly known in the music industry for having funny lyrics with lots of cultural references, and as always, there’s a lot of that to find on the new album (which you can already stream in its entirety on the Kerrang website). And if you listen carefully to their lyrics of “From The Rooftops”, you may even spot a little reference to Simple Plan in the second verse, where Jaret sings: “I rock all black and she can’t stand, that I’m dressed like the dudes in Simple Plan.”

You can check it out for yourself in the brand new lyric video to this song:
