Pierre brings No Pads vibes with a short ‘One Day’ performance

If you don’t follow Pierre Bouvier on Instagram (@pierrebouvier) you might soon miss out on the new video he posted on his Instagram Stories, in which he reminisced about the No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls times with a short but sweet performance of ‘One Day’.

‘One Day’ is one of he songs we don’t usually hear on Simple Plan’s setlist and therefore is highly awaited at the upcoming NPNHJB tour. On this tour, which has so far been announed for the USA and Europe (see all dates here), Simple Plan will perform the whole NPNHJB album front to back and then come back to also perform their traditional greatest hits.

David discusses first SP show in his hometown Matane in a new interview

It’s not very often that we get to hear David giving out interviews, but since this one was regarding a topic directly concerning him, plus he was being interviewed by a couple of his old friends, David was very happy to give this interview to the radio station Choe FM 95.3 (big thanks to Emilie for the short recap of this interview).

In this interview, which you’ll be able to listen to in French below, David talked about Simple Plan’s upcoming appearance at a festival in his hometown, Matane. This will in fact be Simple Plan’s first show in this city. In 2010, when Simple Plan played at Pierre’s, Seb’s, Chuck’s and Jeff’s old high school – College Beaubois – David told them: “Hold on, there’s something wrong here. We have to play in Bas-du-Fleuve as well!” ‘Bas-du-Fleuve’ is a nickname to the Bas-Saint-Laurent region of Quebec, Canada, where David comes from. He is very happy to see that the band is finally heading to his hometown.

David also discussed the fact that he has taken a week off to travel to L.A., before heading back home to practice with the band next week for their upcoming tours. He also once again mentioned that when the band was in South America without him, he took 2 months off before Christmas to rest and go back home to Matane to see his friends and family.

Simple Plan to travel to China next month to perform at early screenings of “Snowtime!”

It seems that Simple Plan will be back on stage even sooner than we initially expected! It has just been announced, through a post on Journal de Montreal, that Simple Plan will be heading to China in the beginning of March to perform in Beijing and Shenzhen at two early screenings of the Canadian animated film ‘Snowtime!’ (the original French title is ‘La Guerre Des Tuques 3D’), for which they recorded an English version of the track ‘The Heroes’ back in 2015. The band is expected to perform the song ‘The Heroes’ live at the screenings of the film.

The film’s producer, Marie-Claude Beauchamp, commented on the band’s willingness to promote the movie: “It’s great that the guys at Simple Plan agreed to accompany us on the promotion tour in China.”

The official premiere of ‘Snowtime!’ in China is set for April 1st and according to earlier first screenings back in January, the Chinese audiences seem to be very excited about the movie. The animated film is a remake of a 1984 film of the same name and even though it was only released in November 2015, it has still managed to become Canada’s highest grossing film of 2015 with 3.3 million dollars in earnings.

Remind yourselves of the song below (Chuck wasn’t present during the recording of ‘The Heroes’ as his son London was being born at the same time as the song was being recorded in the studio):

Jeff composed a song for his daughter

Continuing with his hobby of practicing the guitar, which he recently brought to another level, when he started documenting it online, Jeff revealed yesterday that he has written a song for one of his daughters, Zoé, entitled “Chanson pour Zozo” [Song for Zozo (Zoé)].

Jeff is currently working on creating a recorded version of the song, but in the meantime, while still in the practicing stage, Jeff shared a video of this beautiful song on Instagram.

Jeff shares another video from his guitar practice session

Yesterday afternoon, Jeff Stinco picked up his guitar once again, to practice “La Catedral” by the Paraguayan composer Agustín Barrios. He decided to film his practice session and share it with his fans via Instagram.
