Jeff about his involvement in the restaurant business

Journal de Montreal published a new article today about Jeff’s recent opening of two new places – a Japanese restaurant “Shinji” (opened on January 9th) and a bar “Rufus Rockhead” (to be opened on January 17th). These two establishments are an addition to other ones already co-owned by Simple Plan’s lead guitarist (with a couple of friends) – such as Mangiafoco, Drinkerie or Edgar Hyperlodge (more info on each here). In the English translations below, you can check out some of Jeff’s quotes from the fore-mentioned article:

On why he decided to enter the restaurant business: “I love challenges. It is a beautiful job and then … I love food. For me, the restaurants, it’s a very social and beautiful extension of what I do with music. And this is a way to ground myself in Montreal. With Simple Plan, I have traveled a lot. But it is important for me to also maintain a sense of belonging in my city.”

On the success of his business: “It’s not just that because people know who I am when they come. If the product wasn’t be good, they would not return. When I started in music, I was told you have to fetch the fans one by one. In the restaurant business: it’s the same thing. You need to take care of all the details. And I spend a lot of time working on my business.”
