Joel Madden makes a reference to a Simple Plan album at NRL grand final

If any Simple Plan fans were watching the NRL Grand Final on September 30th (the final match of the 2012 NRL season in Australia – that’s rugby, guys), they may have spotted a little Simple Plan reference during the special feature with Joel and Benji Madden that aired right before their band Good Charlotte took the stage to entertain the crowd that gathered to see the premiership-deciding game.

During the feature (that you can watch here) at approximately 1:42 mark, Joel (who along with his band have been friends with Simple Plan for a very long time) clearly referenced Simple Plan’s debut album “No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls”, which is coincidentaly also the album that Joel’s vocals are featured in – on the song “You Don’t Mean Anything”.
