It was last December, when we have informed you about Marc Normandeau, a Canadian boy, who because of his own experiance with cancer, decided to build his own foundation against this very illness. The boys from Simple Plan have visited Marc many times in the past and also agreed to attend the All Star Golf Tournament which Marc’s foundation organised on August 2nd.
Even though from all the members only Pierre attended this event, he brought one special guest – his brother Jay, who you remember mostly because of his fight with lymphoma cancer few years ago and because the song “Save You” was written about him.
Apart from Pierre and Jay, many Canadian celebrities showed up: Serge Savard and Gaston Gingras of the Canadiens, Larry Smith (President of the Alouettes) and Ed Philion of the Alouettes, Rick Moffat (Voice of the Als and Habs), Joey Elias (Local Comedian & Actor), Andrew Carter and others.
Thanks to this golf tournament more than $55 000 was raised. All the proceeds will go to The Marc Normandeau Fund at the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation to benefit kids with cancer.
