Recent events and what’s next for Simple Plan

Apart from releasing a brand new version of Summer Paradise feat. MKTO, there haven’t been many Simple Plan related news in the past couple of weeks. Mostly because the boys took some time off in between touring and mostly concentated on their personal lives and side projects. And while there are no news about David’s whereabouts and Pierre is with his family, there are definitely some mini-news about the rest of the gang.

Chuck has recently posted a Keek video of himself at a hockey game and also defended the band’s decision to re-release Summer Paradise again (with MKTO) on Twitter in response to many fans’ rather negative stance on such a high amount of versions of the same song. “A lot of you guys asking for new songs… Couldn’t agree more! We are working on it. But we wanted to re-release the song for our US fans. Been neglecting them a little. We are very eager to tour in the US so our hope is that, with our US fans’ support, Summer Paradise will do well and that we can play for you,” explained Chuck.

In other news, Jeff finished his motorcycle exams and finally acquired a licence. Also, during the past weekend, Jeff attended the wedding of one of his friend’s – Julie St-Pierre – who is a radio presenter in Montreal. You can see one picture of Jeff from the wedding reception here.

Sebastien‘s and his brother’s Jay’s works on Wilfred LeBouthillier’s new music have finally been revealed as LeBouthillier’s new single “Je M’y Perds” was released a couple days ago. You can check out this single that includes the works of Wilfred, Seb and Jay here. And speaking of Sebastien, the youngest member of Simple Plan was seen at the red carpet of the Gregory Charles show in Montreal yesterday night – check out the three new pictures from there in the gallery:

And what can we expect from the upcoming days? In only a week Simple Plan will be heading back to the old continent to play in Austria, Germany and Russia – for the total of 5 shows. According to SP’s sound engineer, Frank Joly, the band’s gear has already been sent to Europe a few days ago, so the only thing that’s missing now is the band itself.
