Simple Plan co-writing with Marianas Trench’s Josh Ramsay!

Simple Plan’s upcoming fifth studio album is indeed shaping up to be one hell-of-a record! The ranks of currently known collaborations on this album (whether lyrical or other) that include for example the guys from 3OH!3, Mark Hoppus from Blink 182 or Alex Gaskarth from All Time Low, have just been by Josh Ramsay from Marianas Trench. Chuck and Pierre confirmed so on their Twitter posts last night as they started working with Josh on new songs for their album in the Umbrella Factory studio in Vancouver. In the gallery, you can check out the picture of Chuck, Pierre and Josh that the boys took together in the studio yesterday [on left].

Josh Ramsay, besides being the lead singer of the Canadian band Marianas Trench, is also a well-established song-writer, who’s been nominated for the Grammy awards in 2013 for co-writing Carly Rae-Jepsen’s song “Call Me Maybe”. Simple Plan became friends with the members of Marianas Trench first on their short tour in the US, and later asked Marianas Trench to open for them on Simple Plan’s Canadian tour along with All Time Low and These Kids Wear Crowns in 2012.

How are you enjoying the announcements of the collaborations on the next Simple Plan album so far? Who else would you add to the mix?
