Simple Plan filmed “Opinion Overload” video – sneak peek!

It was a long night at the Le Belmont venue in Montreal, Canada yesterday as it was the place Simple Plan chose for their new music video for “Opinion Overload”. According to the initial schedule, the shoot was supposed to last only for about 3 hours, however due to unforseen circumstances it eventually took the directors Mark Staubach and Chady Awad whole 5 hours to film the concert part of the video. According to witness accounts, Chuck took the time to walk through the crowd and apologize everyone for the delay.

As you will see from the pictures, the whole venue was decorated with old-school Simple Plan memorabilia – posters from the old albums’ tour cycles were hanging from the walls, Chuck’s drums were covered in old SP stickers and Sebastien was rocking out on his old Fender guitar filled with band stickers. And older fans will be excited about one other “SP memorabilia” that appeared on the set – Patrick Langlois, the former Simple Plan merch guy, videographer, photographer and website manager, visited the set too. As references to Patrick (or his appearance itself) are very common in Simple Plan music videos, it’s very possible that we will get one in “Opinion Overload” too!

Check out the first photos from he set:

And finally, thanks to some of our secret agents out there (a.k.a. fans) who sneakily managed to capture the atmosphere on their cameras, you can now have the first sneak peek of “Opinion Overload”! As you’ll be able to hear, the song is very fast-paced, pop-punk and just about anything you were dying to hear from SP. Enjoy:
