Simple Plan to get into “record mode” in September

In order to promote his brand new restaurant Laurea that officially opens for public today (after the private opening party for invited guests only that took place on Tuesday), Jeff Stinco did a number of interviews this morning for various TV and radio stations such as Breakfast Television or NRJ 94.3 Montreal [check out some of the first pictures from these interviews here].

Simple Plan fans will probably find the Breakfast Television interview the most interesting, as Jeff spoke not only about his restaurant business, but also about the upcoming plans of his band and the state of their new record. Jeff mentioned that Simple Plan want to really get into “record mode” starting September. Now, this doesn’t necessarily mean the guys will enter the studio officially in September, but it sure gives us the first hint that the boys might be getting there soon.

“We did an event yesterday – a charity event for the Simple Plan Foundation. It went amazingly well. And we’re writing. So we took the summer to kind of gather ideas. We have 35 songs about right now. Two of which are good… [laughs] And still need work. We’re gonna start in September really getting into record mode: writing, recording – the process is more fluid now. So… I don’t know when it’s gonna come out. It’s gonna come out when we’re ready.”
