Length of “Opinion Overload” revealed & more info

iTunes has recently updated their store’s page regarding Simple Plan’s new album “Taking One For The Team” and gave us another tiny little clue about the upcoming new single. The length of Simple Plan’s first track on the album, “Opinion Overload”, for which the band shot a music video last Monday (and which is expected to come out either this or next week) will be 3 minutes and 19 seconds. So far that makes it the longest track on the album (that we know of).

But that’s not all we know about “Opinion Overload”! Pierre and Chuck wrote this song along with the song “Nostalgic” with the song-writer Nate Campany, who is one of the very few song-writers from the long list of those Simple Plan have worked with on this album, who’s efforts actually made it to the album.

WHO IS NATE CAMPANY?

Nathaniel Campany, is an American pop song-writer and indie musician, who currently resides in Los Angeles. Besides his interest in Scandinavian pop music (he’s written for the finalists of both the Norwegian and Swedish Idol), he has also worked with a large number of international artists such as Christina Aguilera, The Backstreet Boys, Carly Rae Jepsen, Adam Lambert, Owl City and The Summer Set.

Are you excited to hear “Opinion Overload” soon?

New Periscopes reveal the beginning of “Opinion Overload” and more!

Back on Monday, when Simple Plan filmed their upcoming music video for the song “Opinion Overload”, the band’s sound engineer Frank Joly used the app Periscope to livestream a part of the videoshoot [thanks SP.BR and Emmsy for pointing it out]. And lo and behold – it also featured the most consecutive recording of the actual song so far!

You can now check out the video below:

Besides that, today Frank periscoped the beginning of Simple Plan’s rehearsal, which you can still check out on his Periscope channel.

the music video for “Opinion Overload” will be released either next week or the one after that
– regarding touring plans: Simple Plan will tour everywhere, there will be more announcements when the shows are oficially booked. As of right now the guys confirmed they would like to tour Canada during summer/early fall and they also want to visit South America this year.
– when asked which bands they are friends with, the guys mentioned All Time Low, New Found Glory and Chuck also mentioned he appreciates and respects Mark Hoppus (blink-182) very much
– there seemed to be a consensus regarding which music video was their favorite to make – the guys very much enjoy those that are filmed on a beach, so it’s either Summer Paradise or I Don’t Wanna Go To Bed
– the guys confirmed that the band played at Sebastien’s wedding (a couple years ago) and apparently they sucked

“Opinion Overload” to possibly premiere next week!

Simple Plan’s highly anticipated music video for “Opinion Overload”, which has been filmed this Monday, January 25th in Montreal, Canada, may actually make its way to the fans even sooner than we expected!

While Chuck has already hinted that the video would come out before the album’s release, it wasn’t certain when exactly that would be. However according to various fan reports from the music video set, Pierre has apparently stated that the music video for “Opinion Overload” will be coming out “February 7th or earlier” and that means next week! Now that is quite soon, eh? :)

It also seems that besides the concert footage, one of the directors, Mark Staubach, may also incorporate some footage from the old tapes Pierre had brought to the set – he hinted on that in his latest Instagram post, saying “Now to watch 100 old video tapes of the band.”

“Opinion Overload” is quite literally just around the corner! Are you excited for the pop-punk throwback? :)
