Simple Plan back in Paris

In a way, Europe is a very lucky place. For the third time in the course of the past 5 months, the members of Simple Plan have returned to the old continent – this time around for a short trip to Paris, France and will be back once again in a month to kick of the first part of their Taking One For The Team tour!

David and some of the crew members have already landed yesterday and had the whole Sunday for themselves to stroll around the streets of the wonderful city of Paris. Other members, such as Sebastien and Jeff only landed today and Chuck and Pierre are expected to land later in the evening.

And what exactly is the reasoning behind this unexpected trip to Paris, when they will be playing the city in just a few weeks again, you ask? Well, as you certainly recall, Simple Plan’s last trip to Paris during their promo trip in November had to be canceled due to the hideous terrorist atacks on Paris on November 13th. Simple Plan were supposed to play a show just two days later but due to safety reasons and out of respect to France’s mouring, they couldn’t perform at that time. After the attacks, SP expressed their desire to come back to Paris as soon as possible, “when the time was right” and as you can see – these guys are definitely the men of their word. We can assume that Simple Plan wanted to return to Paris separately to pay their respects to the city they feel so close to their heart.

On Wednesday, Simple Plan will be performing at Warner Music France at a special private showcase and later on are also expected to appear at the taping of the TV show Taratata. Keep checking back on SimplePlan.cz for more news about their trip to Paris.

Simple Plan to appear on the French show Taratata

It seems that Simple Plan’s trip to France next week won’t only be about the private showcase in Paris at Warner Music France. It has just been announced that the band would be parttaking in the taping of the show Taratata either on Wednesday next week (January 13th).

The last time Simple Plan appeared on Taratata was in 2011, where they performed Astronaut for the first time on television. Hopefully the boys will surprise us with a performance there this time around as well.

Simple Plan to return to Paris next week!

It is true that Simple Plan have previously hinted on a possible return to Paris in January, however with the European tour announced for February and March – and including a Paris date – we all thought that was it. However recent turn of events seem to be indicating that Simple Plan will be back in Paris way sooner than that!

Back in November, only two days after the tragic terrorist attacks on the concert venue Bataclan in Paris, France, Simple Plan were supposed to play there at a private radio showcase as a part of their promo tour for their new album Taking One For The Team. However, due to France closing its borders and security reasons all over the country, Simple Plan were forced to cancel their trip to Paris, promising their fans they’d be back in better times.

But the time has come for Simple Plan to come back and prove that it’s important to keep going and not giving into fear. According to Virgin Radio, Simple Plan will be performing at Warner Music France on January 13th (next Wednesday) and if you’re in town that day, you can actually win tickets to see SP at this private showcase through this contest.

Simple Plan returning to Europe: London instead of Paris

After having to cancel their Monday show in Paris, France, after the terrorist attacks on the city, it was unclear whether the rest of Simple Plan’s short planned stay in Europe would be canceled as well or not. However last night’s tweet from Jeff Stinco confirmed that the band is indeed returning to Europe – London in particular – today:

This corresponds with Jeff’s quote from this weekend, where he stated that if the situation allowed it, the band would be ready to show their support to their French fans by the end of this week. Let’s all wish them the safest of travels.

In the meantime, we are left to wonder what else Simple Plan plan on doing in Europe since no other official (or private, as it was the case with the Paris show) concerts have been announced. There is actually a number of possibilities – one of them being just promo in various radio and/or TV stations. And then the second one that comes to mind is SP may be on the look-out for some additional collaboration. If that were the case, which British singer/band would you like Simple Plan to collaborate with on their new record?

VIDEO: David pays respect to Paris with a cover of John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’

To show his solidarity with Paris after the tragic shootings that took place there on Friday (which resulted in Simple Plan canceling a show scheduled for Monday), David Desrosiers released a series of clips on Instagram of him singing the song ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon, which has become the anthem of peace.

David wrote:

Paris I send you all my love in these tiny clips… I hope you can hear it and feel it all… It’s just a little something that I felt like doing coming home from the gathering, I was very moved and still am as you can hear in the clips but it’s my heart singing this very special song for you from a man who I believe would be very shocked and saddened by these events…
