Good news for the fans of Sebastien’s and Patrick’s radio show! After a little time off since the last episode that aired in July, the hosting duo will be back on Internet waves in two weeks, on October 17th, when the season 27 of Man Of The Hour is set to air again!
Sebastien announced the return on his show yesterday on his Instagram:
“Big announcement! The Man of the Hour show returns with brand new episodes in 2 weeks, October 17th! Patrick and I have tons of great conversations ready for you guys. Make sure you don’t miss the season premier. I can’t remember how many seasons we’ve done but the next one will obviously be the best one ever.”

That means that in just 2 weeks we can get ready for some great new music, hilarious rants and stories from Seb & Pat… and hopefully also some more insights into where Simple Plan are regarding the new album!
You can either listen to the show live on Idobi radio every Wednesday at 8pm EST or catch its replays on Wednesdays at 11pm EST, Thursdays at 12pm EST, Fridays at 5am EST or Sundays at 3pm EST. You can also subscribe to the podcast on iTunes for free.
On Saturday, August 11th, Pierre, Chuck, Jeff and Sebastien all gathered in the city of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu near Montreal, QC, Canada to perform the very last set of their Taking One For The Team tour cycle. After this concert, the band’s plans are to get back to writing and hopefully reach the studio a bit later down the road and produce a brand new album [in fact, Simple Plan have previously stated they would like to release some new music hopefully early next year].
The final show of the tour took place at the International Hot-Air-Balloon Festival in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and since it was in such a close proximity to the band’s hometown, many of their friends could have been seen in the crowd, including the band’s graphic designer Fred Jerome, or their former merch manager, photographer and co-host of the Man Of The Hour show – Patrick Langlois (also known as the “6th member of Simple Plan). Besides them, the band members’ families were also present at the show, which Simple Plan took advantage of during I’m Just A Kid, when they invited their own kids on stage (as well as some other ones) to take a group picture with their dads… and Patrick and his son [check it out above].
Before the show started, Simple Plan had a soundcheck that was open to public, during which Pierre got down from the stage to interract with the crowd a bit and give plenty of high-fives, while singing ‘Farewell’ [check out a video of this cool moment here]
As far as the actual concert goes, it was the first show after a whole summer of shorter sets, that Simple Plan got to perform a full setlist. Similarly to their appearance at the Pro-Am Gagné-Bergeron ice-hockey match two days before, they kept Untitled on the setlist [see the video below!] and to make the night even more special they also added Perfect World!
Check out the full setlist below (big thanks to Jen!):
1. I’d Do Anything
2. Jet Lag (French version)
3. Jump
4. Your Love Is A Lie
5. Welcome To My Life
6. Boom
7. Addicted
8. Can’t Keep My Hands Off You
9. When I’m Gone
10. Grow Up
11. Crazy
12. I’m Just A Kid
Encore:
13. Shut Up!
14. Perfect World
15. Untitled
16. Perfect

Earlier this week, Sebastien Lefebvre appeared on the Gone Fishkin podcast on Idobi Radio, in order to promote season 24 of his and Patrick Langlois’ podcast Man Of The Hour.
In the interview, Sebastien revealed his love for the song ‘Promise’ on SNGA, mentioned that he is currently trying to get some new ideas for the upcoming Simple Plan record in his home studio as well as working on another artist’s music, as he often does. And as expected, he also went into depth about his podcast Man Of The Hour, which is in fact returning tomorrow at 8pm EST.
Check out the full interview with Seb on Gone Fishkin below. It starts around mark 46:08:
On Tuesday evening, Chuck and Jeff from Simple Plan and also Patrick Langlois, their former website & merch manager, were two of the guests of the Canadian talk show Les Échangistes. While Patrick was there to discuss his Global Citizen ambassadorship, the members of Simple Plan talked to the host Penelope McQuade about their band, upcoming touring plans and also about their friend and bassplayer, David Desrosiers, who will be absent from this tour, due to his continuous struggles with depression.
An article on Showbizz.net brought us a few quotes from this talk show, which show us how in depth did Chuck and Jeff discuss how they deal with their friend’s illness and how David is currently doing. You can read the English translation of it below:
“To answer: “He’s fine”, would be wrong. David is doing the right thing to get better. He surrounds himself with good things. I try to stay positive in all this. I have to. David talks about his discomforts with others and for him, that is a very therapeutic thing to do. I find it important because it may inspire other people to talk about it too. […] I find it very courageous to talk about it openly.
He has a place in the band; He is not going anywhere. We decided not to replace him either. It was very important to him. […] David felt the burden of slowing down and seeing that we continue, it encourages him to get better.”
– Jeff Stinco –
“He’s been our friend for 17-18 years. To see someone you know, someone you love, to go through difficult moments like that, it just breaks your heart. It has always been a little harder for him to follow the infernal rhythm [of the tour] and there it just caught up with him. We support him 100%. We think that taking rest and not coming back too fast is really the key.“
– Chuck Comeau –
