Chuck to appear as a guest DJ at Warped Tour after party in Cleveland

The first of the three special 25th anniversary Warped Tour shows this summer is only 5 days away and as we already know, Simple Plan could not miss out on closing this big chapter of their lives by attending all three of these dates!

The grand celebrations will begin this Saturday, on June 8th in Cleveland, Ohio and besides the Warped shows, the 21+ attendees can also count on a rockin’ official after party, which will take place at Phantasy Nightclub/Complex from 10pm and will include special DJ sets from Chuck Comeau (Simple Plan), Mike Fishkin (Idobi radio), Josh Head (Emery) and JT Woodruff (Hawthorne Heights).

Simple Plan to appear at all three Warped Tour’s 25th anniversary dates

When Warped Tour‘s Kevin Lyman announced last year that the 2018 edition of this classic punk rock touring festival would be its last the way we had known it for so long, many music fans’ hearts were left shattered because for 24 years, this tour has become a wonderful opportunity to many like-minded people to rock out to their favorite music, enjoy the summer atmosphere and experience some wonderful moments. But.. perhaps we all knew all along that 2018 wouldn’t exactly be a complete end to Warped Tour..

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Vans Warped Tour, tons of bands will be joining together an incredible line-up of artists that will gather for three special dates this summer – and yes, Simple Plan will be one of them!

Simple Plan will be one of only three acts (besides We The Kings and Chali 2na & Cut Chemist) that this year’s Warped Tour attendees will be able to see at all three planned Warped dates. They will be performing at the grand opening event at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH (June 8th), then will follow-up with a show in Atlantic City (June 29th-30th) and you can also catch them at the final show in Mountain View, CA (July 20th-21st).

As we’ve teased earlier, besides Simple Plan, this year’s 25th anniversary of Vans Warped Tour is bringing in quite the line-up: Blink-182, The All-American Rejects, Good Charlotte, SUM 41, We The Kings, Bowling For Soup, The Used, A Day To Remember, Sleeping With Sirens, The Offspring, Bad Religion, Anti-Flag and many many more incredible bands to be announced!

Peter John releases the remainder of his behind the scenes videos from Warped Tour with Simple Plan

Those of you who’ve been following the news about Simple Plan here on SimplePlan.cz over the summer, know that their old friend, Australian filmmaker Peter John joined the SP guys on Warped Tour last year to document this very special punk rock summer.

Besides filming some serious live videos of the band for some future releases, Pete also kept us updated about the behind-the-scenes of Warped Tour via his own short vlogs from each day of the tour. Towards the end of the tour however, Pete’s busy schedule didn’t allow him to upload as often as he would’ve liked, so the final eight videos never saw the light of the day. A few months later, Pete finally found some time to go back and edit the final backstage footage from Warped and only a couple days ago he published all of the remaining videos on his YouTube channel.

So if you wanna have a look at what other shenanigans the guys were up to on Warped Tour, see them rocking out to Don Broco every day, look at the behind the scenes of filming Weekend at Broco’s and much much more, dedicate just a few minutes of your time today to checking out these fun little insights into what it’s like to be on tour with Simple Plan:

Sebastien on what we can expect from next Simple Plan album in a new Alternative Press interview

While on Warped Tour this summer, the journalists from Alternative Press caught up with Seb Lefebvre from Simple Plan and asked him a number of fairly interesting questions to get to know him a little better. The questions revolved around topics such as his name for a potential SP tribute band, which band he would like to cover some Simple Plan songs, which SP song would he re-write if he could… and also the obvious topic of the next Simple Plan album came up.

Alternative Press asked: ‘What can fans expect from a follow up to Taking One For The Team?’ – and Seb’s answer? Check it out below!

I think just another fun album, you know. I think we’re always very slow at writing, so I think the plan is that right after the Warped Tour we’re gonna start writing and as soon as we have something decent, we’re gonna put it out – right away. Cause, you know, it’s fun!

– Seb Lefebvre –

We’re happy to hear that Simple Plan still plan on releasing the album as fast as they can and hopefully not take as long with the process of creating it, as they’ve done previously (in the past the process has taken about a year and half each time, writing sessions included). From Seb’s words we can also see that Chuck’s idea of ‘releasing the new album in batches’ (that he shared in an interview earlier this year), seem to still be in the band’s mind and we might actually get some new SP music quicker, but the whole album would be released over a longer period of time, in parts.

Could we be looking at a 2019 release date then? Let’s cross our fingers! What would YOU like the next Simple Plan album to be like? Let us know in the comments below!

In the next couple of months we will continue updating you on everything about the process of making album no. 6 so if you want to constantly be in the loop, keep checking our news section. VIDEO: Simple Plan’s 20 days of no shaving challenge on Warped Tour – who won?

During this year’s Warped Tour, the members of Simple Plan and their crew decided to go through with a simple challenge – to not shave their faces for 20 whole days. Sounds simple – but was it really?

The guys filmed the whole experience from the final shave all the way to day 20 and put it all together in two newly released videos on Instagram, in which you can see all the struggles they had to go through – some of them for all 20 days.

Who was the biggest loser, who else quit during the 20 days and who were the final three heroic winners? Check out the videos below – and make sure to swipe left to see them both!
