Simple Plan to film a part of DVD in Australia

A few hours before hitting the stage in Sydney, Australia, tonight, Jeff, David and Pierre did an interview with Hot30 Countdown and in the interview they’ve said that they are still in the process of making the new DVD, still filming everywhere they go and confirmed that they will be filming the DVD also in Australia.

The band has also mentioned that “new music is coming soon” – regarding the upcoming EP, that Simple Plan are currently working on.

You can check out the picture of three members of Simple Plan with the hosts of Hot30 Countdown in the gallery (Thanks @SimplePlanOZ and @GaleForce2011 for the info).

Simple Plan to release a French version of Summer Paradise!

Did you think that the only song in which you’d hear Simple Plan sing in French, would be Jet Lag? You were pretty wrong. The French radio station NRJ has aired a brand new version of Summer Paradise – after the English version with K’Naan and the English one with Sean Paul, Simple Plan are coming up with a French version with Sean Paul!

We can only guess that this was most probably the song that Pierre spoke about in a recent interview and also which we’ve seen being recorded thanks to a couple of pictures.

Below you can check out a HQ recording of the French version of Summer Paradise from the NRJ radio (thanks to Charbel):

Chuck and Jeff back at Radio Canada today

Earlier today, Chuck and Jeff, headed back to Radio Canada (just like yesterday) to give another interview there – this time with Mr. René Homier-Roy. The guys talked mostly about their work with the Simple Plan Foundation (which by the way finally has its own section here on SimplePlan.cz) and also mentioned the upcoming photobook and the DVD. Charbel caught up with the guys again today, so below you can check out his pictures with them and also the interview (in French) with Radio Canada from today:

David’s message against drunk driving

Ever since the release of Still Not Getting Any, one of Simple Plan’s main causes that they are involved in, is the fight against drunk driving. It started with the release of the single Untitled, and most importantly by the accompanying music video, which depicts what impacts can a DUI-related car accident have on not only the victims of the accident, but also on their families and friends. The song was inspired by a personal story of the guys’ high school friend, who (by driving drunk) caused a car accident that killed his best friend.

With this song, Simple Plan started a massive campaign against drunk-driving, and the music video for Untitled has been used countless times by programs like MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), RADD (Recording Artists Actors & Athletes Against Drink Driving) and also the state of Virginia uses the music video to scare off the upcoming holders of driver’s licences.

The previously mentioned program called RADD, particularly its Australian part, has recently released a series of short audio files, all including messages from well-known personalities, asking the listeners not to drink and drive. And because of the recent visit of Simple Plan in Australia, we can now find our own David Desrosiers on one of the files, spreading this important message… and using the word “gig” quite a lot (thanks CSP for the file):
