Simple Plan members gather in California: ready to enter the studio to record new album

The moment we’ve been waiting for for the past couple of month, perhaps even years, is finally here: Simple Plan finally have enough songs to enter the recording studio and start turning their demos into actual recordings.

After performing their set at Warped Tour in Mountain View, all members of Simple Plan (even those based on Canada’s east coast) remained in California, where they are expected to hit the recording studio any day now. Jeff Stinco confirmed this on his Instagram yesterday, when he posted a picture of himself and Sebastien, bringing some of his favorite guitars with him to California:

It’s time to work on a new record! You know what that means? I get to play with all my Toys in the Attic (see what I did there?)! I only brought the sweetest of the sweetest in terms of guitars for this recording session. Seb seems to think I went mad again ;-)

As of right now, there has been no official announcement from the band regarding their return to the studio, nor an announcement regarding who’s going to be in charge of the production of their 6th studio album: whether they will hire a producer, work with multiple ones or even aim to produce it themselves. However we expect all of these questions to be answered quite soon.

Are you excited to hear what Simple Plan have come up with on record #6?

PHOTOS: Simple Plan in the recording studio

For the past couple of days, all the members of Simple Plan have been gathering at the West Valley Studios in Los Angeles, where they are recording the final four songs for their upcoming album “Taking One For The Team” (coming out February 19th 2016). The guys are almost done and will be leaving the studio any day now as they have a big show to play this Saturday in Canada.

Check out some of the photos from the studio taken by Brandon Sloter:

Simple Plan heading back to studio to record final 4 songs

For the past couple of months, Chuck and Pierre worked really hard on some more songs they wanted to add on the new record and the time has come to finally record them as a band.

That’s why after their trip to Mexico, the guys are on their way to Los Angeles, where they will re-enter the studio they left in May, to record the final 4 songs for their new album over the weekend. Both Jeff and Chuck confirmed this today on various social media.

And since we’re on the topic of the new Simple Plan album (who’s title and release date should be revealed next week), I’d like to point out one interesting quote from a recent interview the guys did in Mexico. It seems that while the band have claimed the record would be “half and half” (half old-school SP-sounding songs and half new experimental stuff), there may be even more of that good old old-school pop-punk/rock/you-name-it than we’ve even hoped for. In the forementioned interview, Pierre stated that this album is “The heaviest, the most pop punk album we’ve ever had.” We’re taking your word for that, Pierre! You can check out the interview here.

Simple Plan are back in the studio

After their two shows in Canada, Simple Plan finally returned to Los Angeles, where they started working on the final part of the recording process of their upcoming fifth album.

And that means not only the guys are back at work, but also back with their studio updates. For now, you can check out some of the first new shots from the studio after the little break and hopefully we can expect some more studio vlogs next:

Progress board update #4

The whole band is finally back in Los Angeles again and started getting more work done on their upcoming fifth record. Yesterday the guys finished some more guitars parts and as you can see from the updated picture of the progress board since the last update, the guys also progressed with the vocals and are getting very close to the finish line:
