Works on TSSML music video continue

Ever since the beginning of December, Simple Plan and the director David F. Mewa have been working together on the next Simple Plan music video – for the song “This Song Saved My Life”. On December 2nd, the team filmed Simple Plan with their fans at the autograph session in Toronto and also after that performing at The Big Jingle. David F. Mewa later revealed that the music video would also be including a footage from the whole world tour.

And to keep on with the spirit the song has been conceived from – from a collaboration between the fans and the band, with the fans sending thousands of tweets saying in what way a particular song has saved or changed their lives – last week the band asked their fans to send in their own videos and photos (with the deadline being last Friday), so that they too would get a chance to star in the video.

After a little break during Christmas time, David F. Mewa started going through the submitted photos and videos again, this time selecting the final few that will get to be in the video. According to David, there were hundreds of submissions for this very special project.

From some of the submissions that I’ve seen floating around on various social networks and YouTube, there are some really amazing and creative photos and videos out there, so there is no doubt the process of chosing the best ones will be pretty hard. But we all know all of the pictures and videos just can’t fit into the 3 and half minutes. In the meantime, check out the newly published picture (on the left) published by David from the process of making the music video for This Song Saved My Life.

The music video should be out around January 2013.
